Water · Hail · Wind · Fire · Denied claims

Your insurer has a playbook. I used to train people on it.

Plain-English tools and tips for any property insurance loss, from water leaks and hail to fire and other natural disasters. Document your loss, understand your policy, and push back when your claim is denied or lowballed.

Sound familiar?

The claim process isn't built to be easy.

Denied

You got a letter saying no.

A denial isn't always the final word. Knowing the exact policy language they relied on is where pushing back starts.

Lowballed

The estimate doesn't cover the work.

Missing line items, skipped rooms and outdated prices add up fast. Your own records are how you prove the difference.

Hidden damage

The leak is fixed, but the damage isn't.

Water travels behind walls, under floors and into cabinets. Moisture you can't see can turn into mold and much bigger repairs.

Myth vs Reality

What nobody tells you after a loss.

THE MYTH

“The water dried up on its own, so there's nothing to claim.”

THE REALITY

Water you can't see can still cause real, covered damage.

Moisture trapped behind drywall, under flooring and inside cabinets can lead to mold and rot. Report the loss promptly, ask for moisture readings, photograph everything, and keep every receipt.

  • Additional Living Expenses: tracks the increase over your normal costs, which is what's usually covered
  • Miscellaneous: water extraction and drying, debris removal, tarping, board-up and more

About

17 years inside insurance claims.

I'm Jamie. I spent my career on the insurance side of the table, handling water, hail, wind, fire, foundation and other natural-disaster losses, and training the adjusters who handle them.

I know what gets a claim paid, what gets it stalled, and what nobody tells homeowners until it's too late. Adjusters Uncensored is where I share it, in plain English and without the sugarcoating.

I'm also a mom, so my tools are built for real life: quick to fill in, easy to understand, and there when you need them.

FAQ

Good questions.

Are you a lawyer, or will you handle my claim?

No. I'm not an attorney, and I don't represent anyone or negotiate claims on their behalf. I teach how the process works and make tools that help you stay organized. If you need someone to handle your claim, a licensed public adjuster or an attorney can do that.

What types of claims is this for?

Any property insurance claim: water leaks and burst pipes, hail and wind, fire and smoke, and other natural disasters, for homeowners, renters and condo owners. Flooding from rising water is usually covered by a separate flood policy, and the tracker works for those claims too.

Do the tools work for my state?

Yes. The tracker works for property claims in any state. Claim rules and deadlines vary by state and by policy, so always check your own policy and your state's department of insurance.

I rent. Is this for me?

Yes. Renters policies usually cover personal property and additional living expenses, and those are two of the tracker's main tabs.

What do I need to use the tracker?

Excel, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers. You'll get an instant download after purchase.
